Squam Art Workshops
I mentioned this briefly before, but here’s the big rundown.

This summer, from September 10 through the 14th, I will be teaching some workshops with 12 other talented people, up at the Squam Art Workshops in New Hampshire on Squam Lake. From the pictures and what I have heard, this place is ridiculously beautiful. If you have not participated in a summer workshop series or craft schools like the Arrowmont School of Arts & Crafts, Penland School of Crafts, Haystack Mountain School of Crafts to name just a few on the East coast, you are missing out. They are some of the most exciting classes and environments I have been in and the information and interaction are invaluable.
Obviously, I am a huge fan of this type of environment and am so excited to be teaching three workshops at Squam Art Workshops (SAW) which are:
- The Rubber Stamp Champs, which will be a workshop on carving your own rubber stamps and a discussion of different ways to use them along with working on some of those.
- Chenille Poseable People, which is too much fun and we’ll be making many different styles of the vintage inspired dolls and ornaments using my signature wooden bead face and bump chenille bodies along with a slew of super cool accessories.
- The Wooden Spool Doll is the last workshop I will doing at SAW and it is for a new Limited Edition Spool Doll which we will make together and discuss the construction techniques of making a small doll using a wooden spool.
There are lots of other workshops being offered so check them out here. You’ll meet tons of cool folks become super energized, see amazing projects and learn tons of new techniques that, trust me, you’ll be wishing for another week of classes or another 24 hours in a day to keep working. It’s an amazing experience and one which gets you oozing with ideas and creativity for months after it ends. I can’t wait! If you decide to come, registration is now open and I hear classes and lodging are filling up so don’t wait too long.

We go there every summer and it is so relaxing and the views are breathtaking. I’m bummed that our vacation time this year will not coincide with your awesome workshop! It looks so much fun. Yeah for craft retreats! “On Golden Pond” was filmed there. I try to save up a good book for the vacation. Are you Bookish? I bet I’m not the only one that would like to hear about your taste in Books and Films : )
I'm curious about your two cents. You smart cookie!
