The Halloween House
Here’s the entire Halloween House! I started making this thing back at the beginning of September so I can’t wait to pull out the rest of the Halloween decorations.
The house itself is a paper-mache house I ordered from Hobby Lobby’s online store called Crafts, Etc. If you have one locally, you can find them there usually or you can order the set of 3 houses (this being the largest in the set) here for $12. You have to get all 3 though but I’m thinking the other houses will be super cute for a Christmas mantle or as gifts. I painted the house black and then used some coarse black glass glitter for the roof I bought here. (I got the 3 oz bag of coarse #70 and I have lots leftover for other stuff.) I then cut up some wooden tongue depressors to board up a few windows and part of the door for some added spook.
I came across these two old witch head picks so I fashioned a clothespin doll body for the witch at the front door and a wool cape for the one on the roof. They both also have brooms you can make with some twigs and raffia or pine straw.
All around the house I secured branches and twigs I picked up in our backyard and along Broughton Street after the winds from one of the storms last month brought down a bunch of these great small limbs.
In the crook of one of the branches, I glued this paper german dresden foil spider web I bought from here.
More halloween projects coming. And here are the links for the instructions I previously posted for making the Halloween Ghost Walkers and the Spooky Poseable Skeletons that are also standing around the house.
