A Steno Pad for My Thoughts

My sister and mom love some sugar scrubs. I made a brown sugar one for me that I like to use quite a bit and since they are so easy to mix together with stuff from around the house, when I saw these cute little jars at Michael’s for $1 each I picked up a few for some gifts.

The sugar scrub I made this time was based on this recipe from Care2. The approximate recipe I used is below and I say approximate because I kept having to make up more to fill the jars I had but the proportions are pretty good to go.
1 C white sugar
1 C raw sugars
1 1/2 C almond oil
1 T liquid lecithin
1 T vitamin E
1-2 drops eucalyptus and lavender essential oils

The label I made and printed out on card stock, then did a quick “laminating” job on by putting some clear packing tape on top of it and then cut out in a circle, glued on a wooden disc and then glued on top of the jar. Tied that jar with a ribbon and I was done! Hot dog.

Those jars are just the perfect amount too–I got a vat of sugar scrub one year, and I thought I’d never get through it all!

So cute! I love that you used yellow/gold - it’s so happy! And I totally agree - those look like the perfect sized jars.

fantastic. i’ve been looking for an indulgent albeit cheap feminine gift idea.

where would a gal like myself find lecithin? I’ve got a lot of ‘bath and beauty stuff’ around the house, but that ain’ one. I make a great bath soak with epsom salt, rosewater, glycerin, lavender oil, ylang ylang and clary sage.

I happened to have a big jar of lecithin around so I used it but glycerin would be great to use! (I bought lecithin at my natural foods store nearby.) Your bath soak sounds great, Jessica–I’ll have to give it a try sometime. :)
