Ribbon Storage
As I’ve been using more ribbon lately, in my wedding toppers and other designs, I’ve found my collection of it to be slowly getting out of control as it continues to steadily grow in size. I buy the same thing twice, can’t ever seem to find the color I need. You know the drill. So I got them in control last night before bed. I keep many of my products and supplies in an old mail sorter which I found boxes that fit into perfectly. And now the ribbon fits in the boxes perfectly, too.

I used double-thick boards to wrap my ribbon around, but old cardboard is great, too. I cut a slit in the board so I didn’t have to tape the ribbon down, wrapped the ribbon around the board and secured the end with a tiny straight pin.

What used to be in five different places is now all together. Organization is so satisfying. And so pretty.

Such an awesome idea. I use large jars to store my ribbon but this is such a good idea.

I’ve been thinking about incorporating ribbons in some quilts, but I have no idea which kinds are meant to be colorfast and durable. Any tips?

A-W-E-S-O-M-E. There’s something very satisfying about seeing them all tidied away like that.

YESSSSSSSS! Thank YOU. I have been wondering for months what to do with my ribbon stash. Hadn’t quite got to the stage of buying things twice - but almost! Thanks for sharing.

Amazing…I have SO much ribbon that’s crammed into shoeboxes, etc. As a result, it’s wrinkled when you want to use it, and it’s too much trouble to get out the ironing board, wah wah wah. So you’ve inspired me to get my “collection” under control! Thanks!

Oh so wonderful!!! I must adopt this somehow. My ribbons are in an unbelievable mess right now.

Of course! If you are not familiar with the ribbons over at Retrosaria, you have to check out them out! They are so amazing.

thanks for sharing this awesome idea- looks fantastic and easy to keep organized. (i’ve just been keeping mine all smooshed up together in a hurricane vase, which looks pretty too, but way messy).

I just love looking at the pretty colors your collection makes all neatly stowed together. I’d love to pinch your whole collection. I think getting organized sparks creativity — if I can see it, I’ll think of a way to use it.

This is calling out to me. Actually, I think my ribbon drawer is calling out to me, too. It’s saying, “I want to be pretty like that!!” Thanks for the tip and the gorgeous/inspiring photos.

Neat and orderly sewing supplies so appeal to my inner perfectionist… Did the same with my embroidery floss boxes last weekend and it’s more satisfying than a day at a spa. Sad, but true.

I’ve got to do this! My ribbon storage (which was neat initially) is becoming a huge mess now! Thanks for the great tips.
