A Steno Pad for My Thoughts

My mom, sister and niece were visiting this weekend. This was our project for the weekend since none of us can sit still without making something for very long. Laura posted about these about a year ago, then made one, and I’ve been insane about them ever since. Then Lena made some last week and enough already. I had to have some hanging pronto. Luckily, it worked out six idle hands were hanging out the past few days.

My sister actually found a wire frame about 20″ wide while she was walking Olivia so I used that for the chandelier. It’s quite large and have it hanging from our ceiling fan. Then we also made some garland for the kitchen. It feels like a party tent now in there.

I have so much I need to get done that it was actually really nice to work on this with them. Plus, now I don’t have to stress about decorating for my family’s Thanksgiving visit next month. Bonus. Score!

I am in love with this project!! I am not sure I have the resilience to make one myself.. Maybe I can buy flowers online?

Very, very cool. I love the tissue paper flowers! So, what did you use for the spacers?

I used dried wheat. I had to cut them with my Fiskars cut through metal type scissors though because regular scissors cracked the wheat when it was cut. And if it cracks then the string in between comes out of the wheat “tube” spacer. I used the starburst paper punch from the Martha Stewart craft line for the smaller paper flower spacers, and a 2″ scalloped paper flower for the larger ones. The tissue paper flowers were hand cut circles. Some were made from crepe paper cause it’s what i had on hand.

Paper flowers are wonderful because they don’t go bad after long periods and they are really cheap. Looks fantastic, you guys are really talented.

This is so cute! Love it! What did you use for the circle hoop of the chandelier?

I believe the frame was from a hubcap. My sister found it while walking her dog around the block.

I forgot to mention, that around the hubcap wire circle, I did hot glue a wider piece of tagboard/cereal board type card about 1/2″ wide then wrapped it in strips of crepe paper.
