Matchstick Men
Someone has a birthday coming up and I was being all super organized and made these little matchstick men about a month ago, slipped them into a pouch, squirreled them away and then promptly forgot about them.

I actually still can’t find them. Luckily, before I had even remembered about them, I had already made her this. And now the matchstick men will just have to arrive to the party way beyond anything that can be considered fashionably late.

This is what ended up in the mail. A stuffed swan. I’m obsessing over swans. This one is fairly large–more of a throw pillow size. A black swan with one wing, so it must be carried–at all times. It also has a stick in its neck. Cause it’s just that kind of swan. It’s a padded stick. But still, it’s got a stick up its neck. Careful with this one. It’s bark is bigger than its beak. I had WAY too much with this before it left town. Oh, and to fulfill the random quotient of the present, I threw in my halloween costume.

A flower headband. And on a slightly unrelated note, I am in love with the iPhone app, ShakeItPhoto. I’ll have to post more pictures I’ve taken with it tomorrow. It’s awesome. I’m hoping to get a book printed up with images from the past year I love them that much.

Always a delight. Matchstick men! You’re too much!
I too keep making things and squirreling them away, then being unable to find them when their moment to shine has arrived. They live to shine another time.
