I am not a fan of the smoked turkey. It came in its box as schedule, I unloaded the box, dug under the skin for a piece to taste and felt so sick and gross for the rest of the day. It smelled like a burned building and I couldn’t get rid of the smell. Obviously, the flavor was just too strong for my taste. Needless to say, I left the kitchen while that bird was cut up and frozen to be sent home with our guests while I brined a turkey to eat during the meal. The rest of the meal went off without a hitch.
The table with our thankful cat and a Martha Stewart autumn wreath kit in the background which I snagged with a 50% discount one day.
The mantle with two pre-made normally hideous fake arrangements from Michael’s that I snagged at 50% off. I added the ribbon and augmented it with some real dried stuff and all done looking good for the mantle. And I added a Peacock Posse Ornament right there in the center.
These hilarious pipe cleaner turkeys I had last year were added to the backs of all the chairs.
The new addition this year were these vintage honeycomb turkey placecards for the table from Ebay. I printed out labels for people’s names and the best part is they can fold them up for easy storage. Family is still in town and after bright + early deals this morning, we’re all tuckered out.
