Sewing Machine Cover Stamps
I want to make a cloth cover for my sewing machine and use some hand carved stamps to make it fancy. Here are the first designs I’ve cut…

Details of them all here. Lately, I’m digging on cutting stamp shapes that can be mixed and matched to make different designs. Like the arrow in this design.
Also, this time I used Staedtler Mastercarve block instead of my usual Speedball Speedy Cut and for stamps, it is nicer. I bought a big block of it that’s 3/4″ thick which is really nice for added stability while stamping. Also, it’s a little less crumbly than the Speedball stuff. They both work fine, but when given a choice, I’d go with the Mastercarve block, especially for a stamp I’d want to use many times in the long haul–and not just for one project. (Keep in mind the Mastercarve sheets are about three times as expensive.) I also used a combination of a lino cutter (V shaped No. 2 blade my favorite) and straight blade for these. I find the straight blade a little difficult to control but great for the fine lines in conjuction with the lino cutter. Fun stuff.
And here’s a peep I’m keep for myself. Hands off!

Ha! Picked up those cute pink cowboy boots at Cut + Paste. The stuff in her hair she picked up in the grass (yes intentionally, she’s messy, my kind of girl). I love her.

your stamps are just so cute!
i’m a big stamp carver, and once you go stateletter, you can’t go back. that speedball stuff is terrible. though speedball did come out with some pink carving rubber a few years ago, which is pretty good - don’t know if they still make it though…
my favorite stuff is called PZ cuts (and it’s much less expensive than the stat). It’s absolutely wonderful! i even like it better than the stateletter. i do alot of detail stuff, and the stateletter sometimes is a little too squishy for me. you can check them out here:
