A Steno Pad for My Thoughts

The following is a post from The Small Object blog originally hosted over on Blogger that has since been deleted. This post was originally published in January 2006.
“I have found that the ’systems’ I set up for myself that I actually follow the best are those that are easily accessible, attractive to use and fill-in-the-blank kind of setups. So as I did all the fun budgeting, invoicey kind of paperwork and naturally found myself needing something to keep this stuff in that would be easy to grab and yet pretty enough to sit out on my desk. And this super-simple-nothing-fancy-I’m-not-the-first-one-on-this-boat was the answer:

Paper envelope sleeves! I used pages from a book I recently picked up from a thrift store entitled “365 Sachgeschichten” which I believe roughly translates into 365 things to know or something of the sort. I just folded up a few pages super quick like and then snip + snip at the bottom like so:

And then like this:

Taped it up and then the most exciting part, the thumb notch! I love sleeves with thumb notches and my “DING” moment occured when I could use half a circle punch to create this rather than with scissors. Duh…

I rounded the top two corners cause I’m a freak like that but I’m very excited about them and my spreadsheets are all slipped in ready to be filled in! I think this is really going to work this time. Let’s hope.”

Ooh, must know where you found that circle punch, I love the “see what you’re punching” ability! Help!

Well, I’m curious as to how you will use these? I certainly could see putting them together into a book form and then making tags to go in the sleeves to put …whatever… on them.
