There are many robots in our homes today. Their creators aim to make our everyday lives easier, and sometimes even more fun!
You are already familiar with robot vacuums, which clean the floors and then return to their charging docks on their own. However, you may not know that the first robot of this type wasn’t the fictional Rosie the Robot from ‘The Jetsons’, but rather RCA Whirlpool’s Miracle Kitchen, which was launched in 1959, three years before the cartoon series!
If you’ve ever visited a factory, you have already seen robots used for repetitive and/or dangerous tasks, such as welding, maneuvering heavy loads, and so on. This allows human workers to focus on tasks that require creativity, rather than working all day long on assembly lines.
Robots are also used as teaching aids. Unlike me, they adapt to each student’s personality and learning pace, providing customized learning paths ;)
We can conclude by saying that today’s robots are able to work fast, boosting productivity and allowing us to concentrate our energy on projects that require creativity, something that the current generation of robots lacks - for now at least.
